Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What exactly is a made to measure suit?

A - to make it simple, a made to measure suit is a suit that is made for you from scratch. unique measurements will be taken and the suit will be constructed to meet them. An off the peg suit ( a suit that you will find in high street shops) is made to fit a standard size and shape, often needing many alterations to fit the customer's specific shape. this is not made to measure

q - What is the difference between a made to measure suit and a bespoke suit?

A -  Made to measure suits roughly take six weeks to make. the suit will be made by hand with the use of machines. a bespoke suit can take roughly three months or longer. the should be made completely by hand.

Another difference is the price. Most made to measure suits in Leeds start at around £800 for a two piece. Bespoke suits in Leeds can start from around a £2000

Q   - What makes St Clair suits different from other Suit Tailors in Leeds?

A -  What sets us aside from other suit tailors in Leeds is the price. We have the most affordable made to measure suits in Leeds. The reason for this is because we don't have a store. high rents are not inflicted on the garment prices. Our garments are made out of a workshop in the Netherlands. Everything has been calculated to keep the price down and the quality high. We are proud to offer the finest made to measure suits in Leeds at affordable prices.

Q- Can I bring my own fabrics to you?

a - Known as cut length. This is when a customer brings their own fabrics to a tailor. At this current time, we do not accept cut length.

Q - How Long does a made to measure suit take to make?

A - Our suits can take roughly 5 to 6 weeks to make. At the final fitting, if any small adjustments are needed we will get them done within the week of the fitting.

Q - When do you get new fabrics?

Summer fabrics are available around February and winter fabrics are available around September. Our seasonal fabrics are limited.

Our summer fabrics are Loro Piana, Reda, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Guabello and many other historic mills

Q - Do you accept returns?

A -Unfortunately we can't. A made to measure suit is one of a kind. The suit is designed to fit one person.

Q - Where can I find you?

A - We don't have a suit shop in Leeds as we are a travelling tailoring service, this also helps us to keep the title of having the most affordable made to measure suits in Leeds. We can come to you at the office or at home. Alternatively, you can visit us at our Wakefield office.
